Allow me to briefly reflect and reminisce concerning who I am and how I came to be the woman that I am today. I felt the drawing of the Lord upon my life as a child. I spent many years as a pre-teen and beyond chasing an abundant life. Later, I discovered that my chase was futile. On November 2nd, 1987, my chase ended when my new abundant life began as I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord

BIO: ZEPHANY ANDREWS was born in 1966, the youngest of five, and grew up in small community in McComb, MS. She completed her secondary education from McComb High School in 1984 then continued her undergraduate studies at Alcorn State University (BA), and Jackson State University. In 1988, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English majoring in Broadcast Journalism. After spending the next 10 years being a Stay-at-Home Mom (if that is what it is called now), in 1999, she decided to pursue a career in Nursing from Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina. In 2005, she graduated with her Associates Degree in Nursing. After returning to work outside the home part-time, she became restless, and wanted more, so she enrolled into the graduate program at University of Phoenix. In 2014, she completed her graduate studies and obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing Education. She is a practicing Registered Nurse, and Assistant Professor of Nursing at her Alma Mater. In 2018, she felt that she was not finished, so she enrolled in Seminary at Liberty University with plans to continue her theological studies in 2020.

My heart-of heart: β€œWith many achievements β€˜under my belt’, that I could boast about, considering the privileges of knowing God through Christ, I would rather boast on Him and Kingdom matters. I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord on the same day as my husband of three months. As stated, my abundant life began. From my marital union and commitment with my husband Terence, we have three Born-again sons, a daughter-in-law and two granddaughters.

Finally, as God continued to sow into my life and manifest Himself even greater, I discerned the call to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, crucified, risen, and coming back again.  My husband, (Elder) and I attend and serve at a local church in our hometown in the South. As I fulfill God’s call on my life as a minister, God has divinely blessed me with the various Spiritual Gifts; my dominate gifts are Teaching, Exhortation, and Service. I have been blessed to preach the Gospel, teach leadership, discipleship, and evangelism training abroad in Haiti. My passion is teaching, preaching, and speaking to audiences in an expository and motivational way.

My life’s passion is guided by Jeremiah 9:23-24 β€œThus says the LORD, β€œLet not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; 24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.”

I would like to sum up my bio with: β€œNothing matters outside of knowing God through obedience, sacrifice and humbly serving the kingdom with gladness.” Come sit a while and join me as we embrace life and all it has to offer… the successes and the challenges. It is all part of God’s sovereign plan for our lives. It is just par for the course (life). The journey flows…

The current state of affairs may resemble mayhem to almost borderline anarchy. When the condition of society is without government and law, there is political and social disorder due to the absence of governmental control. What can follow is anarchy. Even if there is not a full-blown anarchy, lack of respect and refusal to follow official mandates has the potential to cause similar affects.

In the Old Testament, from Genesis to Malachi, from the priesthood of Melchizedek to Jesus the High Priest, from prophets, to judges, and kings, the Lord was the governing authority in a theocratic system. God, the King, Lawgiver and Judge was the voice of influence and divine authority. With that, even with God’s chosen men and women in leadership, the environment still seemed to consist of unrestrained chaos, confusion, and disorder. When the leaders did right, the people thrived, but when the leaders were disobedient and idolatrous, the people looked a lot like their leaders and suffered greatly. The people either benefited or lost at the hands of their leader. When a platform is the embodiment of ungodly principles with a pattern of blatant self-centeredness, people tend to operate as if there is no leader at all. β€œIn those days there was no king in Israel; every man did that which was right in his own eyes”, Judges 21:25. But, how could all of this be if the Lord was considered the governing authority

In the New Testament, we began to read about Jewish sects and catch a glimpse of the subtle encroachment of separation of church and state. The leaders were Sadducees (priests and wealthy influential people), Pharisees (more common people, traditionalist, religious leaders expecting Torah application in life based on their understanding) and Essenes (self-identified as sole and faithful remnant of Israel, generally shunning marriage). There were also kings, nobles, emperors, etc. etc. My point is that before there were presidents of countries, there were governing authorities that began with Adam in the Garden of Eden, β€œThen the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it” Genesis 2:15. We all know what happened next. God’s plan for His theocratic system of ruling was perfect and would have remained perfect until Adam disobeyed God. β€œ16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, β€œOf every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die”Genesis 2:16-17.

I believe that sometimes we forget what really happened on that day. β€œ12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinnedβ€” 13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come” Romans 5:12-14. Sin entered the world on that day and has continued. It is perpetual and universal. The evil that is before us today that looks as if it is unchecked should be no surprise. The same enemy that wreaked havoc in the Garden of Eden is the same enemy that is upsetting the world today and attempting the same to your personal peace. Do not let him!

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” Ephesians 6:12.  Our battles are not simply against a physical enemy. Even in the Garden of Eden, evil was brought to Adam at the hands of Eve and its originator the serpent because of Satanic influence.  If Eve had only known what she was about to contribute to… e.g. the state of the world that we are in today. But God…

There is no leader from the past, present or future who will govern in a way that will promote personal or universal peace. Look to the Lord.  As long as we look to leaders for remedies and expect consistent impartial protection and safety from any governing authority, we will continue to be disappointed. After all they are β€˜men’. I know… I know… you are not expecting lasting peace here on earth… really? Now search deeply, not even a little bit?

Finally, remember Adam, Eve, the serpent, and satanic forces on that day. There is sin and death in Adam, but salvation and life in Christ. β€œ17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous” Romans 5:17-19.

Be encouraged and marvel not at what we see with our eyes.Β β€œBe angry and sin notβ€œ,Β Ephesians 4:26a.Β Do not forget what actually happened in the Garden. What you see now is clearly evidence of the fall of man. Let’s be the light and salt so the world can see the resurrection of Christ. Make the gospel attractive in the midst of mayhem so there won’t be a total anarchy. God is still in control… try to live righteously and let Him reign.Β The journey flows…

Thank you Zephany for sharing your beautiful and heartwarming journey. You are truly an inspiration! Friends, you are worthy of showing up for your life regardless of the stages you are in, because your God-given worth isn’t something you achieve — IT’S SOMETHING YOU CARRY! Amen! God bless.πŸ’•

  1. Awesome reminder that there is no metter life then life with God. Life is not complete with God.

There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord .
    Proverbs 21:30 NIV

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord ’s purpose that prevails.
    Proverbs 19:21 NIV

First we commit to the Lord, then, he establishes our plans.

Gaining wisdom comes with a cost- total trust in God. We develop wisdom as we totally commit everything to Him. This is backwards from what we usually think. We tend to think that first God tells us what to do, then, we trust him and do it. Of course there are things God has told us to do in scripture (his decreed will). And yes you should obey these. And yes God has revealed our ultimate destiny (his presence). But most of our decisions in life are not decreed by God. God doesn’t typically tell us what to do in specific situations. God puts us in situations that demand that we trust in him. When we trust him, he reveals his plan over time.

The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
    Psalms 33:10‭-‬11 NIV

God Bless Your Heart. Pray you had a great 4th of July. πŸ₯°πŸ˜‡β€πŸ€—πŸ™πŸ™
