GUEST POST: MEDITATION! GOD’S WORD IS LIVING AND ACTIVE!

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at “CHANGE”

Our attitude towards the word of God, determines the place that God holds in our daily lives. Never treat Gods word as a common book. THE WORD OF GOD is living and active. Meditating on God’s word will give you a better understanding of what God wants from and for you, thereby proving you with guidance. Give meditation a try. Your heart will change and you will grow!

My beautiful feautured blogger: PASTOR YVETTE CONATSER

BIO: Pastor Mark and Yvette Conatser’s ministry (Plain Speaking Ministries) makes God’s Word–and God Himself–easy to understand. We teach every person about how much God wants a personal relationship with them in their own heart. The most important thing a person could do to overcome the struggles of life is to simply “believe,” and that’s what Plain Speaking Ministries is all about. Please visit our blog at https://plainspeakingministries.wordpress.com.

Pastor Yvette story: When I read Joshua 1:8, I felt discouraged. The scripture states: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayestobserve to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

In John 15, Jesus said if we will abide in Him, then we will produce much fruit. We can’t even produce fruit without abiding in Him. “Much fruit” is the fruit that makes us look, talk, and believe like Jesus. To meditate is to contemplate, muse, ponder, mull over. Imagining the truth of God’s word is powerful. It takes your thoughts away from the negative that might crowd your mind. Meditating on the word starts to work on your heart effortlessly.

Think about what God has done for you. Remind yourself of the blessings God has brought into your life. Mull over even the small things. Pray to God in the same way with meditating prayer. Philippians 4:8 says to think on things that are honest, just, pure, lovely, good, virtuous, and praiseworthy. Thinking of scripture and prayer are ways to fulfill this scripture and Joshua 1:8.

Your mindset follows your heart. The Lord helps us to change starting in our heart not our minds. The bible states that as a man thinks in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7). As you talk to Jesus, you remind yourself of His promises. This practice opens your heart and allows Him to fill it with the right way of believing.

Thank you Pastor Yvette for this lovely post. Friends, Give Meditation a try. If you haven’t tried it yet, you really need to! It’s no accident that the Bible speaks often on the value of meditation. Our time in the world is like running a race. Meditation is the warm-up and prayer our run to finish. Feel free to comment, and share some love in the comments below.
