Do you see it too? You may not see it at first glance, but I see miracles in this photo. What I see, isn’t just children. I see JOY. Real deal Joy. This kind of joy doesn’t come from surface or temporary things. And there is so much more. I never thought this would be my path. But. But God makes the impossible happen. He makes hearts transform and friendships grow and He puts the most “unqualified” people right where He wants us — relying on Him. Trusting Him, knowing where we can’t, He already has.
How do I do this? What do I do exactly? What if I mess up and don’t do enough? Where do I even start? I asked myself all these questions (and so much more!) Know this: Whatever God wants you to start, you may not have ANY experience, or any idea where your first steps of faith will lead. I just want you to know that I felt so much fear on this journey. Little by little, I learned –And am still learning, to let fear lead me to faith.
Thank you Lungisani-Indlela orphanage for accomodating us. So grateful for their example, their realness, their laughter and willingness to participate and receive what I had taught them. There’s sweet magic in the mundane, in realising that these children are literally walking, breathing testimonies of what Jesus can do with a willing heart. That’s faith! Taking a risk to believe in what you can’t yet see.
“Our job is to love others, whether or not they are worthy.” And that has been running through my head and heart ever since. Because that’s what Jesus did. God bless!
