Attempting to channel Hermoine Granger’s study habits AND slowly getting my mind into exam mode because my first week of exams is coming up in 2 WEEKS and I feel far from ready๐Ÿ˜.

One of the most significant difficulty before exams is to split my study material and my Time.(๐Ÿ•›โณis my most prized possession) I always end up spending too much time on one particular subject and it makes me neglect other stuff. After many years of studying(full time job my entire life๐Ÿ™Š) I’ve picked up a few study tips and tricks.๐Ÿ™Œ

  • CREATE A SCHEDULE: Stick to it. Not a minute more!  There is nothing that keeps me focused better than creating a schedule for myself. For example, I’ve set up a 7-day schedule leading up to the exam. This allows me to space out my studying, so I am covering all of the material adequately prior to the exam. This keeps me motivated and accomplished.
  • EAT.HYDRATE.SLEEP.REPEAT:  An overall healthy lifestyle is important. Try to maintain a healthy diet while you study, it helps to boost your brain power ahead of your exam. The better the fuel your brain gets the better you’ll study. It’s a ….well…no-brainer! Continue to drink water throughout the day, and get a good night sleep.
  • TAKE BREAKS: I’ve said this before and I’ll keep on reinforcing it. Your brain is a muscle and if you don’t give it a break, it  will  stop being productive. A good study break consists of an activity that allows you to take your mind off studying and not to use it for a while. My best strategy is to study for 50 minutes and take 10 minutes off. It works, try it.๐Ÿ˜Š
  • PUT AWAY YOUR PHONE:  Disconnect to reconnect! Studies have shown that distraction of an interruption (text, whatsapp, Facebook, email) combined with the brain you are already experiencing throughout your studies can make you 20% less efficient(meaning you won’t retain the information you’re studying)

And on that note, I’m putting my phone off and getting back to the Study Grind.๐Ÿ˜‰Sending Positive vibes and Love to everyone who needs it.:-)

  2. My technique for studying, which worked quite well for me, even though it was quite a long time ago, was to try and condense the information you needed to learn. I tried to boil it all down into a summary framework- I used to call it ‘micro-notes”. That way I knew I had covered the revision, and the micro-notes acted as an aide memoire. The notes gave me confidence that I knew the subjects (s) and I liked to have my own distillation of the subject as a sort of mini review which I could reproduce in the exam
